Microblading Healing Timeline
Understanding the microblading healing process helps you get the best results. Every client's skin heals differently, but this timeline covers what most people experience after brow tattooing with Kat in Wellington.
Days 1–3: Bold and dark
Your brows will look darker and more defined than the final result. Some redness and swelling is normal. Keep the area dry — no soaking, swimming or heavy sweating. Apply aftercare as Kat instructs at your appointment.
Days 4–7: Light flaking
The colour may look patchy as the top layer of skin heals. Do not pick, scratch or peel flaking skin — this can pull pigment out unevenly. Let flakes fall away naturally.
Days 8–14: True colour emerges
By the second week, healed skin shows through and your brows look softer and more natural. Some areas may appear lighter — this is why Kat includes a perfecting session 6 to 8 weeks after your initial appointment.
Weeks 6–8: Perfecting session
Once fully healed, Kat refines shape, fills any gaps and adjusts colour at your included perfecting session. This second appointment is essential for long-lasting, even results.
Aftercare essentials
Avoid direct sun, swimming pools, saunas and active skincare (retinol, acids) on the brow area during healing. Sleep on your back if possible for the first few nights. Message Kat on Instagram if you have concerns during healing.
